Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan says he's prepared to sack manager Roberto Martinez.

The club are 19th in the Premier League and, although Whelan has likened Martinez to a son, he's revealed the boss isn't beyond reproach.

He told the BBC: "Don't let me get things wrong: if the time came when I thought Roberto had to be sacked, I would sack him. Hopefully that time will never come."
