Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan says Roberto Martinez's work as a pundit during the Euros was a highlight.

Whelan reckons the Latics brand will have received a significant amount of reflected glory.

"Everyone is obviously fully aware of how knowledgeable Roberto is regarding football - especially Spain and the way they play," Whelan told the Wigan Evening Post.

"I just think he comes across so well, and it reflects so, so positively for Wigan Athletic.

"I am obviously biased, but I honestly believe he has been the best pundit we've seen during the Euros - on either channel.

"He just enjoys watching football. He can't get enough.

"He is football mad, and you can see that when you talk to him or hear him on the telly."
