Wigan chairman Whelan: If Moses had any brains he'd stay another year

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has urged Victor Moses to spend at least another season at the club.

The 22-year old winger, who is being heavily linked with Chelsea, is keen to depart the DW Stadium this summer but Whelan feels it would be in his best interests if he continued his development under Latics boss Roberto Martinez.

"If the lad had any brains he'd stay under Roberto for another year or so. Chelsea have made three bids and we've not accepted any," said Whelan.

"They've all come in the last three weeks, but they've not offered enough. We're still hoping that he signs an extended deal.

"I don't know if they'll bid again, but if they do we always listen. And if it is what Roberto believes he is worth then we will take it from there."
