Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan is delighted with manager Roberto Martinez's impact this season.
The 3-2 win over Arsenal has left Latics within touching distance of safety with three games remaining - and Whelan backed Martinez to learn from his first year with the big boys and go on to become one of the best in the business.
"I have to say Roberto deserves this, as it has been a hard season for him," Whelan told the Wigan Observer.
"But he has got there bit by bit - and he deserves to keep us in the Premier League and go on to be one of the best young bosses in Europe.
"We have struggled a little bit this season, with certain players in certain positions, but Sunday was just a wonderful day for us."
