Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is looking to strengthen his squad in the winter transfer window.
The Latics currently sit 18th on the Premier League table having score just 15 goals in 18 matches and the Spaniard is well aware he needs reinforcements in January if he is to keep the club in the top flight.
"But if it doesn't happen because we cannot get the players that we want, I'm quite happy to use the youth and the development squad that we've got at the club and make sure we have a very strong second half of the season.""We've got a very good idea of what's needed and we could do with a couple of new players in certain positions. We'll work hard for that," he told Sky Sports News.
