Wigan Athletic boss Chris Hutchings says no offer has been tabled for Scunthorpe defender Marcus Williams.

Williams has been linked with the Latics as Hutchings continues his search for a replacement for Leighton Baines following the England under-21 international's move to Everton.

Williams, 21, is one of a number of left-backs linked with a possible move to the JJB Stadium after impressing in Scunthorpe's promotion success last season.

"We are after a left-back. We will always be interested in quality left-backs but it's just an on-going thing at the moment," Hutchings said.
