Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is a big fan of West Ham United striker Andy Carroll.

Martinez is seen as having a cultured approach to the game but he still appreciates Carroll's virtues as an old-fashioned No 9.

He said: "I would have him in my team, why not?

"We have all seen the power he brings and the way he attacks the ball in the final third. He's one of the best in the business.

"He's doing that for West Ham and he looks in full flow."
