Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez will not abandon their passing game to beat the drop.
Martinez rejected the suggestion his philosophy of passing football should be adapted for this crucial run-in.
"The things that we want to do at the club are for the long term and we are not going to change the way that we play," he said. "Even if we changed the style it would not guarantee you results anyway. We are very good in what we do.
"The players are in a great moment and that gives me great confidence. The squad is ready to finish the season really strong. We have five games in the league, three at home.
"We are excited. It could be an historic season and that is what we are working towards, without fear - achieving the most memorable season at Wigan ever.
"'It will be for the right reasons. We will make sure of that."
