Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has explained rejecting Aston Villa.
The Spanish manager loyally decided to stick with DW Stadium chairman Dave Whelan in the summer.
Martinez, 38, insisted: "I have no regrets. The decision to stay here wasn't an emotional decision. It was a well thought-out decision.
"It was an agreement and a chance to repay the loyalty and support that the chairman and Wigan in general gave me.
"That was the right decision from a human point of view and that will never change."
