Wigan Athletic are interested in FC Dallas defender George John.

The Mirror says Wigan boss Roberto Martinez could move for former Blackburn Rovers target John in an attempt to sort out his defensive worries.

The Latics are second bottom of the Premier League and have conceded 14 goals in eight league matches.

John, 24, was set to join Rovers from Major League Soccer's FC Dallas for £1.5million this summer, but then the Ewood Park outfit signed Birmingham's Scott Dann instead.
