Wigan boss Martinez leaves door open to Stojkovic stay

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has hinted on-loan goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic could still win a permanent stay.

The Sporting Lisbon keeper struggled in Wigan's 2-2 draw with Hull City.

"We all know that Chris Kirkland is one of the best English goalkeepers in the league, and someone you are going to miss when he is not there," Martinez said.

"But Vladimir is number one for Serbia, an international goalkeeper who will play in the World Cup.

"It is quite clear he has a different style of goalkeeping and he is still settling in.

"It doesn't help when you don't get many minutes to adapt, but I'm sure that we'll see him playing in the World Cup and we will see the stature of the goalkeeper that he is."
