Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez says Chris Kirkland can go to South Africa next year as England's No1.
Martinez said: "Since I saw him in pre-season, I liked what I saw and I will be very surprised if he doesn't end up in the World Cup squad.
"The quality he has got as a goalkeeper, he should be involved in that squad. Chris is a fairly level-headed man and he knows it is a big season for him individually and also for everybody at Wigan Athletic."
