Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez drew positives from their Swindon Town defeat in the FA Cup.

Martinez denies he didn't take the Cup lightly.

He said: "I'd never say that we're not interested in the FA Cup, we want to win every game that we go into, but it's true that to be in two competitions you need to use your whole squad.

"Today it was pleasing to see two youngsters, Jordan Mustoe and Callum McManaman. I thought they adapted really well and they have progressed really well in the last 18 months and that is pleasing.

"We can't expect to go into the FA Cup using just the 12 or 15 players because that can be very, very damaging.

"We want to be successful, but using the whole squad and today clearly in certain areas we were a little bit slack, a little lacking in minutes."
