Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is set to discuss the Liverpool job - in Boston.

The Daily Mail says Martinez is expected to fly to United States on Thursday for talks about taking the Anfield hot seat.

The Spaniard is due to meet Liverpool's principal owner John Henry and chairman Tom Werner in Boston after been given permission by Premier League rivals Wigan.

Martinez is the preferred choice of Henry despite a backlash from fans, who have called for the return of Rafa Benitez.
