There appears little chance of the defender departing this summer, even though his agent stressed it was highly likely, after he received a glowing tribute from his club manager.
"Maynor is among the best two left-backs in the Premier League," enthused Martinez.
"Maynor can become better than him as he has the ability to be the best left-back not only in the Premier League but in world football.
"I'm sure he will play for one of the great teams but I do not think it'll be in this transfer market.
"There's no doubt he can play for any of the giants of England, Spain or Italy.
"Maynor still has room for improvement with Wigan and to leave before that may be a wrong decision.
"He has power, quality and a professional attitude so he deserves only the best."
