Wigan boss Martinez faces losing No2 Jones to St Johnstone

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez faces losing experienced No2 Graeme Jones to Scotland's St Johnstone.

Jones, 41, was targeted by Swansea last year, but remained at the DW Stadium after the Latics fought to keep their man.

Martinez and chairman Dave Whelan could have a harder job holding on to Jones this time, however, as the Scottish side see him as the ideal replacement for Derek McInnes, who this week took over at Championship club Bristol City, says the Mirror.

Jones is a fan favourite at St Johnstone, where he spent three seasons as a striker until 2002.
