Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is pleased with the early form of new loan signing Marcelo Moreno.
If Moreno can score the goals Wigan so desperately need, it is likely Martinez will be knocking on chairman Dave Whelan's door come the summer to ask for the funds to sign him permanently.
"Marcelo has been really sharp in training and looks ready," said the Latics boss. "Experience always helps and he has been a goalscorer in different leagues.
"When you get an £8million move to Shakhtar and go to Werder Bremen and play in the Champions League, you get that experience.
"He came from South America and has a fantastic reputation but has not found his home in Europe yet - probably he will feel at home in Wigan.
"In the game the other night he played with a smile on his face but worked extremely hard and he thoroughly enjoyed the game.
"For someone who has been here for such a short period of time, it shows you his clear focus and talent and we need to use that."
