Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has dismissed Sunderland interest for Maynor Figueroa.
"Maynor is a vital player for our plans, vital player for the future to allow our football club to develop so in that respect nothing's going to happen with that sort of talk," Martinez told Sky Sports News.
"I don't think we are in a position as a football club now where we need to sell anyone.
"In that respect it is vital we keep players on long-term contracts that are important for the future of the football club and Maynor is one of them.
"It is important in that respect we focus on the games and allow the transfer deadline to close and focus on our daily work."
