Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has praised his players for responding to their dismal start to the season.
Wigan go into today's clash with Manchester United full of confidence after recent results.
Martinez told Absolute Radio: "There was a clear feeling of concern obviously because in a way we know we are a lot better as a team and the results didn't reflect that. There are clear things that we have to sort out and get better because we were trying to play with our hearts instead of our heads.
"It was a period where we had to group together, we had to show that desire to correct things and I think we matured a lot with those two defeats. I'm delighted in the manor that we've reacted."
Martinez's men have the second best defence away from home in the Barclays Premier League. He spoke about their mentality away from home.
"Our mentality doesn't change away from home. We want to win games. I think it's important in any football game that you take responsibility and that you want to win.
"There has been a clear understanding away from home. We clicked as a team early on with a good performance at White Hart Lane and I think there is a good sense of belief from the players when we play away from home that we know we can play as a team and be difficult to beat and to try and be ourselves on the ball and I think we've done that apart from Fulham which was my most disappointing performance this season. We've certainly been consistent in all of our other performances away from home."
