After victory over FA Cup opponents Macclesfield Town, Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez confirmed Mauro Boselli was moving to Italy.

Martinez revealed that striker Boselli was not included in the squad as a loan deal has been finalised with Serie A side Palermo.

"We agreed a loan period with Palermo and Mauro will go back to Italy where he had a spell with Genoa until the end of the season," Martinez said.

"That was the reason why he wasn't in the squad."
