Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez says Chelsea were wrong to sack Andre Villas-Boas.
Martinez believes Roman Abramovich was far too hasty in dismissing a man for whom he paid Porto over £13million in compensation to hire.
"It's disappointing what's happened because Andre brought an entirely different approach - and when you do that you need time to make it work.
"He didn't get that which is unfortunate, because he showed at Porto what a good manager he is and I'm sure he'll take this experience to become an even stronger manager.""You get transitional periods at every club and now, more than ever, is one of those times at Chelsea," Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post. "At this moment of the season, heading into the final third, it's the time where all of the teams are looking to achieve their aims.
