Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez says Gary Caldwell's newly-born baby has affected his form.
The Scottish defender gifted Owen Coyle's men three of their four goals in the 4-0 trouncing at the Reebok on Saturday.
Martinez insists there are no plans to drop him for tonight's home clash against Aston Villa.
Martinez said: "Gary is a dad and it affects you. It's the mental side of having new responsibilities and his routine changing.
"He also has the demands of playing four games in 13 days. We all have off-days."
