Wigan Athletic are attempting to keep Julio Arca in England.
The Daily Mail says Wigan have made a late bid to sign Arca who has left Middlesbrough.
Arca was expected to join Boca Juniors in his native Argentina.
However, Latics boss Roberto Martinez is attempting to convince the midfielder about a move to the DW.
