Wigan boss Roberto Martinez insists Charles N'Zogbia must stay at the DW Stadium at least until the summer. The French winger has been strongly linked with a January exit from the DW Stadium, with in-form Birmingham reported to be courting his services.
The Spaniard is confident the 23 year old can be persuaded to stay in his current surroundings, with Wigan reluctant to part with any of their key men during the winter transfer window.
"I have no doubt Charlie is going to go to the top of world football, but the timing has to be right for Wigan Athletic," he said after watching the former Newcastle man play a starring role in the Latics' 4-1 FA Cup demolition of Hull City on Saturday.
"We are not going to stop any player from moving into a different challenge, but the timing has to be right for Wigan Athletic so we can develop and carry on moving towards where we want to be."
