Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce can understand the half empty stadium for their 3-0 FA Cup victory over Sunderland.
He said: "The half-empty stadium epitomises the whole thing. I never thought the FA Cup would see half-empty stadiums, unfortunately, but there it is.
"It is not until you get to the later rounds that it has that sparkle again which we obviously enjoyed. It used to be fantastic, didn't it? Absolutely.
"Most people, to be fair to them, buy their season tickets and it is such an awful lot of money to watch Premier League football now that if you have to pay again after Christmas, a lot of people cannot afford to do that."
