Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is moving for Werder Bremen striker Ivan Klasnic.
Klasnic was one of the best hitmen in Europe until he was struck down by a kidney problem that saw him have two replacement operations - with his body rejecting the first donated by his mother and then accepting his father's.
It kept strapping six-footer Klasnic out of action for six months and also cost him his place in the Croatia starting lineup.
Bruce and Latics will have to give Klasnic a full medical, although he was fit enough to play in the Bundesliga.
