Wigan boss Steve Bruce fears the chances for managers like Sunderland's Roy Keane are disappearing in the Premiership.
Bruce said: "I'm delighted Roy's done so well. I always thought he'd stay in the game.
"But it concerns me that we've lost two big characters and bosses in Kevin Keegan and Alan Curbishley.
"They've both graced the Premier League for the last 15 years, are both English and are both good managers.
"If we don't encourage people like Roy to go into management, I'm scared that we soon won't have any British or Irish bosses any more.
"I wish Gianfranco the best of luck, but would us British or Irish coaches get a job in Italy, France or Germany? I doubt it somehow."
