Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce says he is only looking to add proven quality to the squad this summer.
Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post: "There won't be a big influx of players this summer because I was pleased with a lot of what I saw from the squad last season.
"We are being linked with every Tom, Dick and Harry at the moment...it seems to be a new name each day.
"Of course, if I can improve the squad, and the players I want are out there, I will do that.
"We're a little bit light on numbers with one or two players having left recently, so they will need replacing.
"But I can't see the need for a big upheaval, it will be more about increasing the quality so we can aim to push higher up the table.
"With regard to all the speculation, this is football's silly season and you tend to find it gets even more silly in June."
