Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is set for crunch transfer talks with chairman Dave Whelan.
The Manchester Evening News says Emile Heskey's future will be high on the agenda when Bruce meets chairman Whelan this week to discuss recruitment plans for 2009.
Arsenal are one of the clubs linked with Heskey, who could well be moving on in January.
Bruce will meet with Whelan before the Wigan chairman prepares for his Christmas break in Barbados - it's understood Whelan will accept offers in the region of £3m for Heskey, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Bruce has already been told he must sell if he wants to bring in new talent.
