Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is satisfied with their start to the season.
He told the Wigan Evening Post: "I'm reasonably happy with our start. We haven't accumulated the points we deserve, we're about three short.
"Otherwise I'm really pleased, there have been some good performances."
Bruce remained optimistic as he added: "There is a long way to go yet, plenty of football to be played, but I've got to say things are looking promising.
"Losing to Middlesbrough last week was agony, it's never nice having two weeks to mull over a defeat."
Reflecting further on the game a vexed Bruce continued: "We needed to score in the first half when we were playing well, whereas they set out their stall and played one up front.
"I suppose it's a testimony to us that teams have started to do that."
