Wigan boss Bruce impressed by Sbragia's work at Sunderland

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has been impressed by the way Ricky Sbragia has lifted Sunderland away from the dropzone since taking over from Roy Keane.

"Ricky has done well up there since stepping in after Roy Keane left," said Bruce.

"Roy built a good team and he was well backed by the owners - I think Djibril Cisse and Kenwyne Jones up front are excellent.

"They now have a look of a Premier League club rather than a Championship club, so fair play to everyone there, Roy Keane included.

"We've watched their last few games and they are a good team.

"But I hope we can go there and do what we did in the FA Cup last season and get a good result to give everyone a lift."
