Wigan boss Steve Bruce is keen to discover if new England coach Fabio Capello abandons friendlies in favour of training camps.
The Wigan Athletic boss has questioned whether it may prove to be more beneficial for the Italian to assess his squad during a 10-day get-together.
"It will be interesting to see if he goes down the route of getting them together for 10 days and playing without friendly games," Bruce told Sky Sports News.
"I'm a big believer in that.
"Friendly games, do we really get the importance of it? Or is it more important to get the players away for a week, or have a 10-day training camp?
"That makes sense. Of course, Mr Capello will have his own way and he has done well all his career, so it will be interesting to watch it.
"It will be interesting to see if he does go down the route of getting them together and, rather than just have friendly games, keep them all together and have a training camp where you will get a lot of benefit out of it."
