Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce was happy with the performance of Ben Watson against Middlesbrough.

He said: "Ben is still trying to get himself match fit. He hadn't played for six or seven weeks before he joined us from Crystal Palace because of injury.

"And he played in a little bit of an alien role to him on the right side - normally he plays in the middle - but all credit to him for the shift he put in."
