Wigan boss Bruce happy to heap pressure on old foes Liverpool

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce was happy to shock old foes Liverpool this week after their 1-1 draw at Anfield.

The former Manchester United captain said: "I have done OK at Liverpool, I can't see me getting the freedom of the city.

"It is always a place I enjoy coming to. And from a personal point of view, being beaten 7-0 by Rafa's side in the FA Cup when I was at Birmingham was one of the worst days of my life, so anything I get from Anfield is a pleasure.

"If you have anything about you, you will enjoy going to Anfield as a player, manager or coach. Liverpool have got top quality players and people running the place so I enjoy going there, it's a great challenge at a really big club.

"I have done OK against Rafa, sometimes the English coach is not too bad! It is always nice for me to go to Anfield and get something, I've done it as a manager and player."
