Wigan Athletic boss Chris Hutchings is confident on-loan Charlton Athletic striker Marcus Bent is capable of scoring goals in the Premiership.

Hutchings said: "We are happy to have got Marcus here and I'm pleased with the quality of cover we have got in the attack.

"It is no secret I was after Harewood. But when that deal didn't happen, I still wanted someone of that stature.

"Marcus fits into that category - he is big, strong, quick, and will score goals.

"He puts defenders on the back foot with his pace which is very important at this level."
