Wigan Athletic are set to trump Sunderland for Paraguay star Christian Riveros.
Midfielder Riveros has been a long-term target for Sunderland boss Steve Bruce and was expected to move to Wearside this month.
However, the Daily Mail says Latics manager Roberto Martinez has been offered Riveros by his Mexican club, Cruz Azul.
