Wigan and Cho mutually terminate contract

Cho Won-hee has had his Wigan Athletic contract mutually terminated.

The South Korean midfielder joined the Latics from K-League club Suwon Bluewings in March 2009, making five league appearances, before heading back to his Korean club on loan.

He has been back in his homeland for the past year but now is unable to re-enter the UK because of visa restrictions so he and the club decided to end the relationship.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez thanked Cho for his services and wished him well for the future.

"We wish Won-hee all the best in the future, he was a wonderful character and a great professional who always gave his all for us," he said.

Cho has now joined Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande who won the Chinese League One last season.
