Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy has gone AWOL from the Republic of Ireland setup.
McCarthy has gone missing from the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendlies against Northern Ireland, Scotland and Italy and a Euro 2012 qualifier in Macedonia.
Unhappy Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni said: "I don't know how many messages I have sent.
"If they're in hospital or dead it's OK but they must go with their national team."
