Shaun Maloney admits Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has him playing the best football of his career.
Maloney had endured injury hell with Aston Villa before moving back to suffer more in Scotland.
But he has been transformed under Martinez.
He said: "Once I'd spoken to the manager, I was keen to put pen to paper and was happy the manager was so keen for me to stay.
"I'd been plagued with injuries for a couple of years before I came to Wigan, but since I've been here, I've seen a different side of the game under the manager.
"In terms of tactics and the work we do in training, I haven't really experienced anything like it."
