Sunderland striker Connor Wickham was delighted with the manner of victory over Swansea City.
Stephane Sessegnon and Craig Gardner both netted spectacular goals against a City outfit who had plenty of possession but failed to break down the hosts.
"Swansea played well against Arsenal and came into the game on a high," the striker told SAFC TV.
"After the first five minutes I was breathing heavily but we expected Swansea to keep the ball and make us chase it.
"We had a game plan and it worked.
"We had to patient and make sure we didn't try to win the ball in silly areas. As a team we were compact, pressed in numbers and got the ball back when we needed to.""We needed to pick it back up again and we did that. It was a great result for us.
