Sunderland recorded a 2-1 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park as Connor Wickham got his first goal for the Black Cats.

Keiren Westwood and Wes Brown made their debuts for Sunderland, who took the lead through Stephane Sessegnon in the 36th minute.

Garry Hay curled in a free-kick for the hosts early in the second half but Wickham broke clear to grab the winner with quarter of an hour to go.
