Wickham happy to see friendly faces at Sunderland

Connor Wickham joins Sunderland knowing several of his new teammates.

Wickham already knows Jack Colback, who he played alongside at Ipswich during the midfielder's two loan spells at Portman Road.

He's also friendly with two of the club's young stars, Billy Knott and Louis Laing, from England duty and is looking forward to meeting the rest of the squad and settling in as part of the north east community.

"I've got the right people around me to help me out and keep my feet on the floor," he told SAFC TV.

"I think I will settle quite easily up here; I'm looking forward to getting to know the people, the area and the club."
