Sunderland striker Connor Wickham is happy with his new contract.

Wickham was speaking after their 1-1 draw with West Ham United.

"It is great to have it sorted so I can settle and concentrate on my football.

"I spoke to the gaffer and I'm really excited about his plans for the club, myself and for how he wants me to play, which it is exciting for me and the rest of the team so I'm looking forward to the future.

"He has helped my game massively," continued Wickham with safc.com. "This season I have sat down and talked to him a lot which has been great for me."
