Connor Wickham is happy with his first months at Sunderland.
While the reigning Football League young player of the year is happy with progress so far, he knows he has a tough task to tie down a starting berth amidst fierce competition for places.
"Things are going well," he explained to safc.com. "To be playing in the Premier League at my age is an achievement.
"Personally now I want to kick on and start playing more and more.
"Coming from the Championship to the Premier League is a big jump but all I want to do is play football at the highest level I can.
"I want to show the manager that I can play at this level and that I can score the goals we need."
