Chelsea are calm over Madrid media talk of Thibaut Courtois returning to Spain.
The London Evening Standard says Courtois was supposedly open to leaving Chelsea last summer, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid all linked with the goalkeeper.
But no deal materialised and now Chelsea are said to be plotting a new contract for the 24-year-old in the New Year.
And the Blues are confident they can tie Courtois down to a long-term deal because there are no other options for the Belgian.
Both Madrid clubs are facing transfer embargoes for 2017 and so cannot make a move for him.
And Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is supposedly not convinced by Courtois' abilities to play out from the back.
