Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp has revealed an article about the club convinced him about moving to London back in 1995.

Bergkamp admits he was hoping for interest from Manchester United, but it never came as he considered leaving Inter Milan.

Tottenham were interested, but when Arsenal made contact, the Dutchman needed little convincing.

"The funny thing is, I knew virtually nothing about the reputation of boring Arsenal under George Graham," he recalled.

"I had read a great article on Arsenal and it looked good. It seemed to be a stable and settled team with many players of the same age. I thought it would be easier for me to end up in such a team and I had a good feeling."
