Whittaker turns down Rangers offer

Steven Whittaker has turned down an offer of a contract extension from Rangers.

The 27-year old Scotland international has one year remaining on his current Ibrox deal but according to his agent has rejected a new approach from the Scottish champions who are trying to ward off interest from Turkish club Bursaspor.

Bursaspor have already made three offers for Whittaker and it has been reported that they will return with a fourth and agent Ken Anderson has indicated that his client will leave the club at some point.

"He'll see out the final year of his contract and we'll talk to other teams in January if Rangers keep rejecting offers," he said.

"It's up to Rangers if they want to miss out on a transfer fee."
