Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has made it clear that the issue surrounding his captain is already being beat up.
Celtic's Scott Brown has recently worn the captain's armband for the national team while Manchester United's Darren Fletcher, who is returning from a 15-month international absence, is almost the rightful owner after leading the side in the past.
Ahead of Wednesday night's friendly with Poland in Warsaw, Strachan was quick to play down the importance of who will be skipper and even suggested that the duties may not even fall to Brown or Fletcher.
"Who the captain is going to be for this game isn't so important. Not one little bit," Strachan told reporters.
"I've got choices to make, sure, but I don't think it's a huge thing at this stage going to Poland.
"We'll tell the players before the game. We've got some good choices, there's a lot of things to be picked out from the squad in general."
