Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan insists their football has been evolving since their promotion.
Whelan insists Tony Pulis' side are not just a 'smash 'n grab' team any more.
The midfielder said: "With the manager we have, he wants to win games. He wants to improve each year and he has done that.
"People say we are long ball but we are starting to change people's minds now.
"He has better players now, there is a chance of playing better football. But I'm sure if it wasn't working he'd go back to the way things were when Stoke first came up."
