Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan was proud to be captain for victory over Fulham.
Whelan got the nod to stand in for the suspended Ryan Shawcross.
"It's been an honour," he told The Sentinel. "I've been at the club for so long, so to have the opportunity to do it, even though it might only be for one game, is something I can look back on. No-one can take away from me.
"Wearing the captain's armband for the last home game of hopefully our best season in the Premier League is special."
